It is our goal at BLI to provide recreational activities, clubs, and organizations that fall in line with the mission of BLI and that promote leadership development, fun, physical fitness, and that facilitates faculty and staff engagement with students. Each one of our student organizations has a faculty or staff advisor that participates in the life of the organization.  Our students are encouraged to participate in one or more of our organizations and are free to create their own student organizations as well.

 

Here is a list of the current organizations we have operating on campus:.

        

The Blue Box Society: This group gathers every Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. to play a variety of table top games. 

 

The Apologetics Society: Every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m., this organization gathers together during lunch at discusses           theological issues that are pertinent to defending the Christian faith.

 

Dagorhir: This an informal club that gathers regularly to practice medieval combat simulation. They typically meet on             Friday afternoons in the gym.

 

There are also a number of informal activities that students participate in as well. BLI has 164 acres that a student can explore.  There is a lake on campus that you can fish in (catch and release only) or canoe on.  There are trails that you can walk and there is also a gym that is open for students to use.  Students regularly gather to play a pick-up game of basketball or volleyball.

 

The House Cup competition, which is part of the BLI House System, is another way we keep our students active at BLI.  Students compete in a variety of activities during the year and the winner at the end of the year wins the House Cup.  Activities that students participate in to earn points include: ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, basketball, community service projects, trivia tuesday, photo contests, scavenger hunts, video creation contests, video game tournaments, volleyball, kick ball, indoor soccer, and bowling.
