OT 212 Pentateuch
Dr. Gary C. Bailey
This course studies the first five books of the Old Testament with an emphasis on the importance of the Torah and understanding and applying the principles of the Torah for the Christian. Attention is given to the cultural and historical background of the Pentateuch, major events, major elements of Law, and study of the text itself. (3 Units)
July 16-August 10, meeting twice a week in the evenings
OT 350 OT Readings: Isaiah
Dr. Gary C. Bailey
This course will explore the book of Isaiah, including introductory issues and a review of the text of the book itself. (3 Units)
August 13-17, meeting each day for three hours and off-site work throughout the summer
NT 314 NT Readings: Parables
Jeremy Andrews
This course is an exploration of selected parables of Jesus recorded in the Synoptic Gospels. Particular attention is paid to the cultural, biblical, and literary contexts of the parables examined so that students might grasp their profound insights, appreciate the parables as sources of theology by and about Jesus, and as encouragement for authentic and faithful Christian living. (3 Units)
July 9-13, meeting daily 9 am – 4 pm.
NT 314 NT Readings: James

July 29-August 3, 1-4 pm, including additional connection with the teacher outside class times.
